Public Participation in DoD's Regulatory Reform

In accordance with Executive Order 13777, “Enforcing the Regulatory Reform Agenda,” the Department requested input on regulations that may be appropriate for repeal, replacement, or modification.

  • On June 20, 2017 (82 FR 28041) DFARS Subgroup, DoD announced solicitation of public input on DFARS solicitation provisions and contract clauses that may be appropriate for repeal, replacement, or modification. Public comments were accepted through Regulations.gov at the docket DARS–2017–0001 .  On August 1, 2017 (82 FR 35741) [LINK TO DFARS SUBGROUP EXTENSION PDF], the Department extended the comment period until September 11, 2017.
  • On July 20, 2017 (82 FR 33470) [LINK TO USACE SUBGROUP PDF], DoD announced solicitation of public input on existing regulations belonging to the United States Army, Corps of Engineers. Through this notice, DoD is soliciting such input from the public to inform evaluation of the United States Army, Corps of Engineers existing regulations by the Task Force’s United States Army, Corps of Engineers Subgroup. Although the agency will not respond to each individual comment, the United States Army, Corps of Engineers may follow-up with respondents to clarify comments. The United States Army, Corps of Engineers values public feedback and will consider all input that it receives.  Public comments were accepted through Regulations.gov at the docket COE–2017–0004 . On September 15, 2017 (82 FR 43314) [LINK TO USACE SUBGROUP EXTENSION PDF], the Department extended the comment period until October 18, 2017.
